Breathwork 

What is Breathwork?

Breathwork is a practise of controlled breathing techniques which can help to decrease stress and anxiety and improve our self-awareness. It also helps to balance our nervous system which can have huge benefits mentally and physically. Breathwork is the only system in our bodies that we consciously have control over.

Why is Breathwork important?

Different emotions or stress responses in our body such as fight, flight or freeze, have an impact on how we breathe as it has a direct correlation with the nervous system. Most people have unconsciously adopted habits and patterns when it comes to breathing especially when we are anxious or stressed. For example, chest breathing; this overuses the shoulder and neck muscles, not using the diaphragm properly and can cause tension, fatigue and poor posture. So, over time a lot of us do not breathe properly, we have unconsciously developed bad habits.

What to expect?

 

  • In your first session, a breathing assessment will be conducted, this will help you to understand your habitual breathing patterns.

  • Each session will include personalised guided breathwork based on your breathing patterns and what you want to gain from the sessions.

  • Each follow up session is bespoke and will build on the last. We will speak about how you have been feeling and if anything has come up for you.

  • It is recommended that any breathwork techniques I give you must be practised in-between sessions; especially to support you to see the benefits or it may bring up questions which we can talk about in each session.

  • Breathwork is a relaxing experience but it can occasionally stir some emotional responses. This is normal but can take you by surprise, so please be aware this might happen. I will always make sure there is time at the end to go through anything that you may be feeling.

 

Please wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat (if you have one).

The sessions can be done from my space in Biggleswade, or online through Zoom. 

I am also available for group breathwork sessions, please contact me for more information. 

Fees

One session (one hour): £60

3 sessions: £160

It is recommended to do a minimum of 3 sessions.
